New year and new Cosplay success!

Hello there everyone! I know it's been a long time, but I've been extremely busy with cosplay as this year I have decided to start competeing! Also, remember how I was saying I was copslaying as the ever lovely and derranged Daniella from Haunting Ground, or Demento as it's known in other parts of the world? Well, at Ohayocon 2015 I was fortunate enough to get a session with Vagabond Photography and got some excellent photos!

Isn't she Lovely? I am so thrilled with her, however there is something truely lacking.....The jacket and skirt are the wrong color. Also the embroidery is a rushed job and I am not happy with it, so I'm remaking her! Not only one but twice! FOr anyone who knows, HArd Mode Daniella actually has a red outfit and I will be making that for competition. I will also have her fire poker which I will have a tutorial for all steps taken to make it. So keep an eye out!

In other news, two days ago I was at Animarathon at Bowling green Universtiy in Ohio, USA. There, I competed for the first time ever as Konno Yuuki from Sword Art Online 2.
As this was my first time ever competing, I entered in the Novice category. I was super nervous let me tell you what. I knew my work was solid, but there were so many unknown factors. I had learned the correct way to sew bias tape and put in an invisible zipper, but would the judges like my stitching? Did my choice to take the light Novel's color scheme go against me? Would I trip and fall on my face as I walked across stage? Well, it was a big deal to me even if the con was a small one day event.

Sitting and waiting to line up and walk across stage was the longest passage of time I have ever felt. My friends and cosplay page followers were all waiting too and supporting me so I was nervous about messing up in front of them as well. The staffers were awsome though, and did their best to make us all remain calm and confident. They had even brought in a photographer to take our photos after we walked on. That is where I was when they announced who won what categories.

I walked back over to the seating area as they were finishing up announcments. That's when Feisty Cosplay, my Asuna and best friend ran up and grabbed me. She's the one who told me the news....I hadn't won best Novice. No, even better I had been bumped up to Journeyman and won best in that category! My vision started to go black and I kid you not I almost fainted. I went up to the stage almost in tears and somehow stumbled up to one of the judges and hugged her before going back down. It was an amazing feeling and I;m still trying to recover from it.

After that Feisty and I had our photos taken by an awsome friend of ours. I'm waiting for the photos so I can upload them and share the amazing work and the best day of my life. I also need to take a selfie with Dinky Trophy so you all can see more derp face and know I'm sane haha.

Now, I know some of you will go "What? Why? You won with that costume!" But I plan on remaking Yuuki. I love this character in a way I can't explain, much the same way I love Codex. I want to make her better so that maybe, some day, I can take her to Master's, just once. I'll keep the original peices I've made for a long time, as they are proof to myself I'm not just a fool and that I can do this. I can be a great cosplayer, and if I can, anyone can. Yuuki is what showed me I can do anything, much like she showed Asuna the same thing. So it's more a way to keep her special to me a and a way to connect. Also, when I remake her, I will be keep a tutorial going. Same thing with Daniella. I want to do these to show thanks to everyone who supports me, as I know how it is when the internet does not have the answers you seek. I also plan on perhaps starting a vlog for giggles and to connect more with you all. Thanks to everyone who has supported me up to this point and let's continue to make this a great year <3
